Carla Boregas was born and raised in São Paulo, Brasil.
Interested in encounters and situations that can occur through sound practices, she explores the manipulation of synthesizers, bass, pre-recorded and electroacoustic sounds with a focus on repetition, textures and sensoriality, creating deep immersive atmospheres and also expansive soundscapes, both in her solo work or in collaboration with other artists.
She co-founded the genre-bending group Rakta , is part of the transdisciplinary duo Fronte Violeta and has a duo with multi-instrumentalist Mtakara . Their most recent work “Linha D’Água” was released on Bokeh Versions/Uk.
As an active member of the São Paulo underground and experimental scene, Carla has also been involved in the artist-run space AUTA (* 2019 † 2020) dedicated to experimental sound and arts.
Next in 2021 she’ll release her debut solo album PENA AO MAR.
