LAUREN BOLGER

Lauren Bolger is an active academic poet and musician in Britain’s avant-garde music scene and has collaborated and performed poetry with a whole host of musicians from the jazz, electronic and experimental music scenes (Thurston Moore, Chris Haslam, Weasel Walter etc). 
Lauren has released six full albums of her poetry woven into improvisational music with Locean: Object/Disco (Box Records); Traine and Which Myth Are You Living?(Tesla Tapes); Chav Anglais and Top Ten Zen Meditations (Artificial Head Records) and the upcoming Like a Strange Matador(Tombed Visions Records), some of them released simultaneously alongside Lauren’s pamphlets.
Her poems have been recognised internationally both in print and on the stage, she was awarded the Roy Fisher Prize for poetry and was shortlisted for the prestigious Bridport prize for poetry and for the Bare Fiction prize. 
She delivers research in the confessional tradition contributing to the practice-based research field of Creative Writing. Her reflections on the poetic meaning of musicality in lyric poetry focuses on the poet’s commentary into writing poetry whilst drawing influence from structuralist and lyric theorists.
