YUCHING HUANG

Yuching Huang is a Taipei-based singer/producer.Her work generously incorporates grooves and sounds resulting from experimenting with electric guitar, synthesizers, and vocals. In her recently released music, influences from noise rock, dream pop, and synth-pop can also be noticed.
Huang lived in Berlin for 11 years, where she cofounded the experimental noise- pop duo Aemong, a group dedicated to noise and sound exploration. They released three albums under the labels Diskotopia and Altered States Tapes.
In 2020, Huang embarked on a solo project and released her first album “化為人形” (Huà wéi Rénxíng) in 2022. This home studio project centered on loops and chanting, while simultaneously exploring the tonal possibilities of the electric guitar.
For her second album, “The Crystal Hum,” she incorporated a large amount of atmospheric and occasionally dislocated synthesizers, as well as tones and rhythms from the Casio series.
Huang also experimented with different vocal techniques, such as vocal looping, vocal sampling, and vocal manipulation, while at appropriate times bringing in some romantic rock elements to add depth and texture. This allows her to traverse between ambient, lo-fi, and pop, thereby pushing her sonic palette further.
